Barber Shop Community together to raise Money for the Royal British Legion & Cancer Research

On October 19th barber shops from all across the UK got together in order to raise money for the Royal British Legion and Cancer Research.

The event took place on the Excel Sports Ground in Walton on Thames and was enjoyed by everyone who took part.

There were teams from Pall Mall Barbers, Captain Fawcett, The Nomad Barbers, Menspire, Big Yin Gents division,

Ragdale Hall Heath Hydro, The Gunz Barber shop and London School of Barbering.

The event would not have been possible without the generous aid of the sponsors.for web

These include Pall Mall Barbers, Proffer, Barber Blades, The Men’s Hair Federation,

the Good Salon Guide, Blue Beards Revenge, Club Wembley and The Craft and Grill in Walton on Thames

The day started off with two qualifying groups, and after the goal difference was worked out and the dust settled, four teams remained.

Through to the semi-finals were The Nomad Barbers, Ragdale Hall Heath Hydro, The Gunz Barber shop and Menspire. The Gunz and The Nomad Barbers were both eliminated after two fiercely competitive matches leading to an exciting final game between Ragdale Hall and Menspire.

The game was watched by all the teams involved and had an electric atmosphere. The final match could have gone either way with both teams finding the back of the net on more than one occasion. However, when the final whistle blew, Menspire were crowned the overall ‘5 A Back and Sides’ champions 2014.

After the tournament the teams went along to The Craft and Grill in Walton on Thames to share the day’s talking points and collect their trophies.
There were also two golden tickets to be won for an England qualifying match to the winner of a friendly(ish) game of blackjack.
