1. Vigorous towel drying

Wet hair is more fragile and prone to breakage as the follicles are weaker – so pat the hair dry rather than rubbing it intensely!

2. Using a hard brush on wet hair

It’s best to use a wide tooth comb on wet hair to gently remove any knots – a hard brush can pull out hairs when removing knots.

3. Regular use of hairdryers

Hairdryers and other heated styling appliances can frazzle the hair if not protected – so don’t over do it.

4. Too much sun and chlorine
