Fresh for the Ashes
England cricket star Jonny Bairstow stopped by our Birmingham barbers for a trim ahead of the start of the Ashes at Edgbaston.
With play just starting at the Ashes today, and England just coming off their World Cup Win, our Cricketers need to be looking their best and feeling confident out on the field. Jonny Bairstow is one of the star men and having beat off Australia in the semi-finals of the World Cup we’re looking in great shape for the Ashes.
England Cricket Players at Pall Mall Barbers
Jonny joins a number of his teammates who have visited Pall Mall Barbers in Birmingham for their pre-match trims, with Jofra Archer, Liam Plunkett and Ben Stokes getting haircuts before the World Cup win and Jos Buttler styled by Sally more recently.
The Jonny Bairstow Haircut
Master barber Ed was left to get Jonny looking the part at our Birmingham barbers ahead of the Ashes and tells us exactly what he did to help get Bairstow match ready.
“Jonny has a strong wave and very thick hair! This means he needs a little help in styling and shaping his hair.”
“We started with a 2 back and sides, with a 1 around the edges and a taper finish. On top, we went short in the middle, with a little more length on the fringe and all brought left to right, with no parting. We reduced the weight in his hair with point cutting to add texture and increase flexibility.”
Styling Jonny’s Look
“Then, to style, we used Sea Salt Spray to control the wave and help blow dry the hair into shape. Lastly, we added some Workable Paste to hold and finish the look. We used a 1 on the beard with clean lines, using beard oil to soften the hairs and skin.”
Now that Jonny is looking match-ready, we’re looking forward to seeing his performance over the Ashes – our team will be cheering on England as they commence play at Edgbaston for the first test, before it moves on to Lord’s for the second test on the 14th of August, Headingley for the third test on the 22nd, Old Trafford for the fourth on the 4th of September before the fifth test makes its way to The Oval.
