World Retail Congress 2018 ran from April 17th to 19th, taking place at the Marriott Auditorium Hotel in Madrid. As with Shoptalk and Retail Week Live, we brought our Pop-Up Barbershop to the show, with complimentary haircuts, beard trims and wet shaves for attendees of the 3-day event.
It wasn’t our first time in Madrid, either. We have taken our pop-up barbershop to the British Embassy in Spain for #FashionIsGREAT organised by the Department for International Trade.
Pop-Up Barbers at World Retail Congress 2018
World Retail Congress 2018 brought together global leaders of the retail industry, from established brands and retailers to disruptors and start-ups. Focusing on the ever-changing retail landscape and the importance of digital, the Congress has been taking place every year since 2007. The theme for the 2018 Congress was ‘Innovate to Win’, bringing the need to evolve and elevate the experience for the customer both online and in person to every panel.
Speakers ranging from places such as luxury department store Harvey Nichols, Alibaba Group, London College of Fashion, Google and Condé Nast kept the visitors engaged with talks varying from the importance of building a community for retailers, to how to become ultimately customer focused in your approach.
Our barbers were kept incredibly busy throughout World Retail Congress 2018, carrying out hundreds of haircuts and wet shaves non-stop over all 3 days of the event. The pop-up barbershop team had a fantastic time in Madrid, and the attendees of World Retail Congress 2018 were all delighted with their looks. Next year’s event, World Retail Congress 2019 takes place in Amsterdam from May 14th to May 16th.
