We’re thrilled to announce that Pall Mall Barbers is featuring in an exhibition by Mark Wallinger, one of the UK’s leading contemporary artists.
Born in Chigwell, Wallinger studied at Goldsmith’s College and Chelsea School of Art and is still based in London.
Wallinger’s work has been exhibited internationally including in Rome, Germany, Turkey, Ireland, Netherlands, New York, Scotland, Paris, Singapore and Australia.
Having previously been nominated for the Turner Prize in 1995, he won in 2007 for his installation ‘State Britain.’ Wallinger’s ‘Ecce Homo’ 1999 was the first piece of art to occupy the empty plinth In Trafalgar Square.  In 2013 he was commissioned for Art on the Underground, creating Labyrinth to celebrate 150 years of the London Underground.
Wallinger’s debut solo exhibition with Hauser & Wirth, named ‘ID’, is being showcased now until 7th May 2016.
The idea behind this exhibition is to encourage people to think about their identity; and what it means in terms of behaviour and society. ‘Ever Since’ (2012) is a life-sized projection of one of our Pall Mall Barbers storefronts, Trafalgar Square.
If you would like to attend Wallinger’s ID exhibition, Hauser & Wirth can be found on Savile Row with gallery hours between 10 am to 6 pm, Tuesday to Saturday.  Visit the link for more information http://www.hauserwirth.com/exhibitions/2717/mark-wallinger-id/view/
